In a world that is more and more demanding you can excel by finding your exact place. In communities that are more and more diverse you can be valuable by understanding what you bring to the table. This article lists 5 ways of identifying your personal strengths and making marketable, personal labels out of them.
Have you ever asked yourself why the world concentrates so much on personal strengths? You will most probably get this question on your next interview. Your school teachers tried to find and encourage them. Your parents also contributed to finding what you are good at. You can trace this behavior back to the Stone Age when you were living in communities and when everybody had to bring some skill to the table. Some of you were hunters, others were gatherers or fighters.

Learning is a continuous process that will not end for you in your entire life. There are so many forms of learning that I will not bother listing even a few of them. The main take-away from my post (hopefully) would be: learn from any opportunity life offer you!

Once upon a time there was a little panda called Gu Bau, who was born in troubled times, when the social media did not exist. He was a panda, like every other panda and he struggled to become a Zen Master. Being a successful Zen Master was the best profession any panda could choose – Zen Masters were very well educated, they helped other people and they were insanely rich. But not rich on money, they were rich on experience. And so everybody wanted to learn from them.
The last pillar that I am going to cover is the professional productivity. Just like the case with personal optimization, here the idea is to do the things you do right. This is achieved by usually doing them faster, better, with fewer resources or higher quality. One of the definitions of productivity is “the effectiveness of productive effort as measured in terms of the rate of output per unit of input”. Or in other terms how to achieve better results with the same amount of effort.
Moving out of the personal sphere, we are getting into the professional sphere. With personal growth and personal optimization you sow the field of success, and with professional growth and professional productivity you fertilize it. This means that you can get results by only mastering the first two pillars, but with the last two you can get results on steroids.
