This article describes my life-long pursuit for improvement (or Kaizen). It covers both my personal and my professional life.
I stumbled upon the word Kaizen a few years ago and ever since I have been reading articles and whole paragraphs in books, and generally have been fascinated by the concept. I remember the movie The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise and how he impressed his Japanese captors with his iron will and willingness to improve step by step every day.
This article covers the topic of continuous improvement and how I have introduced it to my life. In my opinion perfection is not a state, but a decision, lifetime commitment. By doing small improvements over time, you accrue interest over the years.

A list of the best books I’ve read in 2018 that are relevant to the topics in my blog – personal and professional growth, optimization and productivity.
As I said in my 2017 best books post (link here), 2017 was a busy year for me. Now at the end of 2018, this blog is already 2+ years old and I am following up with my top 5 selection for 2018. I continued to read mostly highly recommended books (4.00+ rating on Goodreads) and I achieved a personal best of 30 books read (against a goal of 21 books).
I continued exploring alternative ways to read (buses, trains, airplanes). On weekends, I get up early and read until my wife and kid wake up. And most interestingly, I go really early to work and sit in a coffee shop for about half an hour before I go into the office. I also explored different techniques for reading fast, but in my opinion this defies the purpose of reading. So, I continue to read cover to cover, absorbing the whole content.

This article describes how I changed my morning routine from doing the same exercises each day to concentrating on one muscle group a day.
I started the topic about morning routine a while ago when I shared mine, calling it The Ultimate Morning Routine for Entrepreneurs – link. Then, I expanded the concept onto my family (my wife Gil and kid), which I called The Frustration Free Morning Routine – link. In the last few months, however, I went back to my personal routine and decided to modify it.
In this article, I describe my new daily morning routine, emphasizing on the exercises and the change in philosophy that I did. I still like to think of myself as “young”, but I am not sure that is true any more. So, I would recommend this article and the exercises that I describe to my readers above 30. Or once you have a family and kids and your time is limited, but you still want to be fit, have energy and look good.

This article describes my unique way of pursuing a promotion by choosing the goals that will take me there and setting aside time to accomplish them.
I have spent more than a year on my current position as a Senior Professional. During this time, I deliberately kept my mind clear of the promotion process. There was so much to learn and grow horizontally that I did not want to miss the chance to do it by concentrating on something else. Now, I feel that it is time to take a look and architect my way to the Principal level.
This article describes how I approached my promotion by shifting my concentration from the urgent to the important. The culture of my current company praises self-driven, self-service professionals and this is why everybody has their promotion in their own hands. Nobody will take you there but rather you have to convince yourself and everybody else that you belong there. At your own pace.
