Creating a journaling habit will help you organize your mental space and set yourself in a predictable, positive mood every morning.
Journaling is one of the top three morning productivity habits that you can adopt in your life on your way to being happier, more productive, and more successful (the other two are meditation and exercise). Although it looks deceptively easy (you sit down and write, how hard could it be?), I would argue that it is the hardest to adopt.
The benefits of journaling are numerous and the list of people who are dedicated to this habit is impressive. That list varies from Marcus Aurelius, through Leonardo Da Vinci, Albert Einstein, to Warren Buffet and Richard Branson. This article describes how I changed my morning routine from doing the same exercises each day to concentrating on one muscle group a day.
I started the topic about morning routine a while ago when I shared mine, calling it The Ultimate Morning Routine for Entrepreneurs – link. Then, I expanded the concept onto my family (my wife Gil and kid), which I called The Frustration Free Morning Routine – link. Practicing discipline and a daily routine is very important in order to get enough sleep and have enough energy to remain productive for the whole day.
Everybody is struggling to get their day organized and optimized. You are all stretched between being an employee (or entrepreneur), a husband, a parent, a sibling and a child. And you also need to set aside time for yourself, pursuing education, fulfillment, relaxation and achievement. And on top of everything else and all your responsibilities, you have to find time to exercise and sleep. Practicing discipline can help you get hold of all those tasks.
The key skills that I have found so far in my quest for perfection, is parallelization and organization. I believe that the best way to accomplish everything that you have to do in a day, is to do tasks in parallel. And the second most important task is to organize your day in advance so that you plan time for everything.
